What hen layed what egg?

How can I tell what hen layed what egg when they are the same color?

Unless you have camera in your nesting boxes and each eggs that hens laid have different shapes, tough to ID. I got 6 EEs that lays different shades of blue and green and pink, I only know 2 since I was there when they laid them. I got also 6 Black Copper Marans, I only know 3 of them that lays specific shades of dark eggs, other 3 I have no clue.

Can you possibly color the vents with dye to change the color for one time to tell how is hows i don't have the camera option

You could try...have read gel type food coloring suggested.
Curious.... if eggs are identical, why do you need to know?

I mean the only way I could see that being possible and in anyway non harmful would be colored chalk.

I want to make a family tree and not have to guess how came from how and if they go broody i want them to hatch there own eggs.

One i do know sometimes as she lays slightly green tinted eggs or eggs with speckled one lays really round eggs and 2 kind of oviled sized all lay a shade of tan
