I'm so sorry!!! we lost a rooster a couple months ago to a dog, it was one just dumped on our property and really mean, but it was still so sad to find him. I'm the same way with my animals. My favorite hen was killed 2 years ago by a cat after surviving 5 years of living on a busy road and a husky attack. I wasn't able to start getting over it until I saw the stupid cat dead on the side of the road one day. :'( I still miss her and think about her every day though.
