Well, the dog warden showed up this morning at my door. He told me there was nothing that he could do about my Frack getting destroyed. I cant believe this. The warden said the dogs had no tags. that the owners 'couldnt afford' them. (now this is one of the BIGEST names on my county. If you have ever heard of CARLTON Harley Davidson, then you can guess. The dog owners said it wasnt their dogs that killed my bird anyway. They told the warden it wasnt possible it was their dogs. They that were accounted for yesterday. He looked me in the eye and told me he didnt have any proof that it was their dogs. ( Mind you I had the police dept. here last night already. The cop took photos of the dog prints at my coop, the feathers and the dog tracks leading to the edge of my property. I couldnt ask him to go trudging through the slop a mile in the woods to the farmers house. But the cop did go over to the dog owners farm and see where the prints ende at his house. He told me it was pretty much cut and dry. He would turn the police report over to the dog warden in the morning.) It snowed pretty hard last night, we got 6 inches on the ground on top of what we had yesterday. So, naturally all the prints, feathers, etc. are gone. How could he prove it????

When I informed him that I have 107 photos proving that it was their dogs, had proof that the dog had my Fracks feather on him, had proof that he needed to prosecute/fine him he just kinda stood there looking at me. When I asked if he had gotten the officers report yet he said no. When I informed our lovely dog warden that the cop had told me it was pretty much cut and dry and HE had taken photos of the prints the warden just stood there.

He told me there is nothing he can do. He is not even going to fine them for not having the dogs lisenced.
But, he did tell me if the dogs were to come onto my property again, that I should detain them and call him.

WT*??????????????????????????????????? I apoligize for my language, here. but I work for the Federal Govt. and I now see why so many people give me a hard time, sluff me off, and joke about what really gets done.

Nothing is going to be done to stop these kind of things here in PORTAGE county OHIO. IN MANTUA township. and I am now totally disgusted with the system.

All i want is an admitance to what happened, and to have the dogs restsrained. thats all. I have proof, i have what is needed. No one will do crap about it.

and this is our land. I miss my Frack. I know the dogs will be back. I am scared for my little flock. But i will not let this end without a fight.

I will proudly say, and I am sure I will get into trouble here, but the DOG WARDEN OF MANTUA OHIO IS FAILING TO DO HIS JOB as a publilc employee.

God rest ye Frack. I will miss you, and will not let your death be in vain.

Well next time that UN-licsensed dog comes on YOUR property......isn't he tresspassing??? Don't you have the right to protect your land??? Load up the shotgun Paw, we gotta keep watch.
The cat that killed my little Cheepie [on my property] came back after the fact and came INTO my house to get another tasty chicken treat (while I was home, within about 10 ft behind me!) I caught it, loaded in a dog crate, and off to the dog pound--ADIOS!

I am so sorry!

I lost one of my chickens to a crow a few months back. We have horrible pit bulls that live next door and they are always growling and barking. It is terrifying to think they could so easily get into our yard and to the chicken coop!

keep vigilant, get a shovel, and a means to take care of the problem, they will be back, SSS= shoot, shovel and shut up, when the owners come looking, just smile and shrug your shoulders
