What I really like about this board

It doesn't take a week for a topic to load or to close. Dial-up is all that is available to me without buying expensive satellite equipment. On the old ezboard BYC there are so many animations, tags, banners that it can take forever for a topic to load. Then heaven help me if I try to shut a topic down before all the "stuff" loads up. I can go cook dinner before it finally closes.

Keeping it simple in this instance is a huge boon to those of us that don't have high speed options.

Robin I know what you mean! All I have is dial-up too and it gets so frustrating!!! I could go do my chores before my putor even boots up!

Yep- I gotta agree! We have dial-up, DSL is too expensive here. I LOVE the way these pages load, even with pics!

Robin, You are right on. I have DSL but here in rural Alabama our Telephone Co-op is the only game in town and the DSL has gotten slower as more and more people are switching. They have a faster speed but it costs even more. I like that we can get on here and it does not take so long. The bells and wistles are fun but in the end its the information that counts.

Hmmmmmm...okay...I just started a thread "What the Heck?!" because I ended up here purely by accident (explained in other post). But now that I'm reading this, I think I'm starting to "get it". This is like a brand new site, totally separate from the old BYC forum. That explains why my post isn't in the "What Breed is This?" forum. Okay....so, I have to go there OR come here but whatever I post on the other site, won't show up here and vice versa??? Well, I see some familiar names here (jimnjay for instance). What? Do you just go back and forth between the two sites or what? Sorry for my ignorance - I really AM technologically illiterate!!!!
