What if I were to PAY you to adopt my rooster?

Do you have any pictures for him? Would you meet me halfway if i would like the looks of him?

Well, maybe.

I'm to far from Long Island, sorry. Do you have an auction nearby?
I have one here tomorrow and I plan to take Eric. In the future others as well.
Check the web for auctions nearby. Maybe work out a plan w/ others and go as a group.

Thanks. I like to admire him too. If only I lived on a farm he could stay with us. Unfortunately I live on this lovely 1/2 acre parcel surrounded by many other 1/2 acre parcels(my neighbors).

Are there any local poultry groups or forums that you know of? That's how I found a home for my little bantam roo. We found a terrific family to take him....their eyes lit up with joy when they saw my rooster.

A friend of ours who has surplus rooster occasionaly said he's had mixed experience with using Craig's List; he's found that advertising with local poultry groups works better. He also said he's had better luck offering a rooster plus a hen, rather than just a rooster. And I found a good post here on the subject:

Other ideas: feed store bulletin boards, 4H groups. Someone out there has just got to want that beautiful rooster of yours. Keep trying, and good luck!

I know it's not what you want to hear but maybe there is a group of you chickens folks who can work together and transport your extra roos to a place where there is an auction say once a year. Or someone who will process all the unwanted chickens once a year.

I just started my chicken raising venture and would love to take your Beautiful roo, Only prob is- How to get it here to New Mexico? I have 6 acres. My wife and I are very excited about raising our own chickens. What breed is he?
