what if u dont eat eggs?

I am going to sell my extra eggs to a Country Joe stand for a dollar a dozen.. He has fresh produce and local honey and a little store and he will sell them for $2 a doz

Before I do that, I am giving all my eggs to neighbors and friends and family. Then I plan on also doing something like...... for every 10 egg cartons you give me I will give you a doz eggs... I also plan on trading fertilized eggs for fertilized eggs.. I may put a sign up for Organic Eggs $2 a doz ... You can give them to the local schools too... along with the food banks... and the HOMELESS SHELTERS or Domestic Violence Shelters.... Pregnancy assistant Shepherd Homes...

It is hard to help since you do not eat eggs.... but I have learned that I like Quiche and freeze it.. I make a big batch of fresh egg salad once a month... Scrambled eggs on Flour tortillas with bacon and cheese.... so many ideas. Maybe you can find a food that you haven't tried yet..

Ohhhh speaking of freezing them.... I saw something the other day takling about freezing the yolks and egg whites seperate. Then this winter when the gals aren't laying as much, you'll have farm eggs to make all those lovely desserts for the holidays.

well i didnt think about feeding the chickens eggs, although i do give them the shells. and yes i know i dont HAVE to buy the wic eggs, it just usually we are Not so stocked up on them.

i also didnt think about Raw egg for the dogs, lol i didnt really want to cook for them too. how much is a serving? my dogs act like theyre starving at all times, lol.

i didnt think food banks would take eggs cuz of food handling laws and whatnot, its cool they will, we have a homeless shelter here,

EVERYone around here sells eggs, and i dont have friends. i like myself too much to share. and the in laws constantly go buy eggs even when i call Before their grocery trip and say, " i will bring over a dz eggs tonight, do NOT buy any" grr thats annoying. maybe xmas season when they want deviled eggs for all the parties, lol.
Great ideas tho, thank you all, my dogs are gonna LUV me tommorrow!

Don't think you'd really want to do that, after all, they are to good for that, right? Maybe the rotten ones! Only kidding!

There are tons of recipes that take a lot of eggs, but don't seem egg-y. Try making custard for your kids. It is easy, they think it is dessert, even though it doesn't contain that much sugar.

Another thing my kids like are popovers. Also, cheese puffs (look up recipe for 'pate au chou').

Make hollondais sauce from scratch. It is amazing. Eat it over the traditional asparagus, but also over fish, meat, brocolli, anything!

Quite a few breads take a few eggs: Challah, portuguese sweet bread, brioche.

I can't wait for my chickens to start laying!!!!!

Barter them - if you are vegan, you could easily barter them for veggies from someone's garden. Folks who grow gardens usually also love fresh eggs. If you do not know anyone, drive around and look for gardens, then knock on the door or leave a notice that you are willing to trade. You could also post a notice at the local garden center if they will let you.

I have 26 chickens(I think)so I have way more eggs than I can use I give some to my dogs, it's true about their shiny coats. I just crack one on top of their chow. I have some frozen, for the christmas baking I also give some to my family, and I have a few people that also buy them. I keep the change from selling them in a can, and use it to buy their feed. The food bank idea is a good one too. and even a local homeless shelter...

you might want to cook the dog's eggs - scramble them then mix in food. as the poster said its hard to break them if they get in the habit of taking them from the hens...and no body likes a an egg suckin' dog
;-)

if you cook the eggs for the dogs first they wont associate the raw ones with food. i give my 3 (big) dogs up to 18 eggs at a time (split 3 ways)...but most of the time is 3 or 4 per dog per day (morning only or you and your carpet/flooring will regret it).

i'd check with a local church. chances are there are some older folks who could use the food and wont freak out over 'farm eggs.' or a local bakery?? they might trade you baked goods for eggs. and dont forget folks who have hogs would LOVE them... we hardboil for ours and its really great protein for them.

good luck!

If you don't have a rooster your eggs won't be fertilized and therefore there isn't any life in them anyway. I am wondering if you could please explain it to me, why vegans don't eat unfertilized eggs? It is a natural food from a chicken that isn't meat or life at all when unfertilized. I find it hard to wrap my head around the concept of not eating unfertilized eggs when it is something natural from a chicken. I appreciate your help and explanation.

You can feed your dogs raw eggs with the shell(good source of calcium and protein in one little package). I just put a whole egg(I wash the outside of the egg with water and a scrub brush first) in their bowl and they typically eat all their kibble first and then save the egg for last, but they LOVE them! You can break it up for them initially if you prefer. Do not be alarmed if their poop is white or very pale colored afterward. It happens from eating shell and raw bone. It is actually a good thing.

I would probably start making recipes that have lots of eggs in them. Quiche, deviled eggs(they aren't just for parties!), potato salad, and my families favorite - drop egg soup. You can also make your own pasta and dumplings.

Happy baking/cooking and happy eating for your dogs!

They used to call those dogs BISCUIT eaters and in the old days they would shoot them.. I would be careful not to start a bad habit. If you have already done it don't worry just stop and cook them. If you want to avoid the hassel of cooking, just scrammble them real good in a bowl and nuk them a bit in the mw... as long as they are cooked it wont start that horrible habit in your pooches...
