Well... interesting. Do you have a vet around maybe that could look at it or have it sent to your local agricultural university for inspection?

Keep an eye on your girls in the mean time. Doesn't look bloody so could have just been a formation that occurred in the hens reproductive tract due to an irritation that was "laid" like an egg.

*you'd likely have to have a lab analyze it to know for sure, but I'd almost bet it is a tumor of some sort. Smooth on the surface, is it??

Wow, aside from the outside color, "alien christmas egg" looks exactly the same......hmmm.

Mine may have not been laid today, I got home late last night so I didn't get the eggs yesterday, so maybe that is why the color looks different.
