if you want a pretty good incubator, buy a littlegiant incubator or a hovabator, near 100 dollars, and i think they aren't worth the money. my eggs have a very good fertility about 97-100%. and the temp in the incubator goes up and down and you might get half of your hatch or less. your just wasting quality eggs. Now i have a R-COM 20 digital incubator and I LOVE IT!!!!! i put 20 eggs in and 19 hatched and the other egg was unfertilized when i cracked it open. but the down to a R-Com is they cost about 400 bucks. If you can afford this I would get one, I reccomend them to anyone.!

Right now Brinsea is having a sale on their 20 Eco incubator they are selling for $99 plus shipping. I have been doing some reseach on good incubators for myself and alot of people say that Brinsea is the way to go. Do a search and look at some of the postings on here that may help you out. Good luck!

Yes Brinsea ECO is the killer!

I am amazed Brinsea ECO it it still for sale at 99 bucks.

I got mine last season and it never dissapointed me.

It hatched expensive shipped eggs at 80% rate.

Just dusted it off and put my eggs in it now.

The only "good" incubator below $100.00 besides Brinsea ECO are Silky hens as per post in this thread.

Both (Silky hens and any Brinsea bator) are "plug and play" situations.

Hovabator and most styrobators are junk unless you have lots of experience and want to babysit them day and night.

I use my Hovabator as a hatcher sometimes when I have an overload of staggered hatches.

At 18 days to hatch day the temp fluctuations are not that critical but you still have to watch for your styrobator not to cook your embrios!

LOL

I have to agree wholeheartedly about the Brinsea. I have the Octagon Eco 20. I bought it last year for $99 plus shipping. I didn't get the turner cradle, but turning is super simple and doesn't require opening the bator. You just rock it from one side to the other a few times a day. It holds temp and humidity like a champ! Wouldn't trade it for a styrofoam bator for anything. Compact, easy to clean, durable. I expect to get a lot of good use out of it. (If I can talk DH into letting me hatch more... he got a little put out last year when I had 4 different brooders going at once and asked him to build a tractor and a second coop!)
