I'm so glad you asked this. I was actually researching the difference last night and never really understood anything more than the fact that it was a second incubator.

chickytock, boy we learn something new here everyday don't we! It is so nice to have such nice people to talk with and explain everything so good.

Bock Bock what is the personality of the wyandottes, I did check into them but some people said they were sometimes a little aggressive, What has your experience been with them? And they are very pretty birds!

i mean no matter what breed chicken you get they will always have the trouble makers in them, but i have heard that wyandatte are very docile a nice loving breed, and the way they look is just as nice but if you are looking for nice birds that look the same and are smaller have you seen the golden or silver seabrights?

Yes i have looked at the seabrights, and they are very pretty too, my youngest son (19yrs old) really likes the silver! but I mostly want large birds, Why? I don't know. LOL

well are you just looking for a flock or for egg layers or for meat or for dual purpose, also what do you plan on doing with the eggs, if you bake then the seabrighs are good as they are rich very rich but it just depends what you wan tthe chickens for

Well my first intentions was for meat and eggs, but decided for now just the eggs, and later for both. I thought about ordering meat birds, but better wait on that I think! Sounds kinds funny but at this late stage in my life Im really trying to have a more self suffient life style? And Chickens and veggie gardens are my first steps

i see well you got a nice mic for the eggs but im sure this is just the beginning you will be getting more and more as life goes on lol just be ready but like i said the big eggs are nice for eating and the smaller eggs which are richer are good for baking so if you cook alot i would say get a couple bantams like silkies or seabrights for their richness in eggs

Oh i didn't realize there was a difference in the eggs with flavor and size hmmmm something else to concider!! LOL
