I don't know the technical definition, but its basically an email about a complaint that the person has.

A rant is when you want to basically get something off your chest and it may or may not have to do with something on this board. It could be venting about something that happened at work, something that happened on the way to the feed store, etc. Usually something that you didn't like or don't like that you really just need to "yell" about.
