What is a sticky thread?

I saw the person in the video mention a sticky thread, but what does that mean?

"Normal" threads move down the page on the forum; when a new post is added to a thread, it comes up to the top of the page. A "sticky" thread is usually one posted by a forum administrator; it stays at the top of the forum no matter how long it has been since it was posted.
