I am building layer cages for coturnix and want to design them so the eggs laid on wire will roll out. I have read that a 2 in 12 slope (about 9%) is the correct slope, but that seems a little steep. Anybody with experience in this area? What works for you. I want to strike a balance between reliable roll out and comfort for the quail.

Thanks in advance,

UGCM

I built mine 2 in 24 I think I looked at a picture of GQF 's cages and counted the holes and then built them to that most cages I have seen are 1/2 X 1 Bottoms and 1 X 2 sides and tops you can ussally look at the holes then look at the measurment and figger what size holes they are . Please forgive me if I overstate the obvious

Good suggestion. Thanks. Sounds like I was right about the slope, at least compared to GQF's cages. I think 1 in 12 is more reasonable.

Thanks again,
