What is day 1?

Do I start my 21 day countdown on the laid date or the first day in incubator? I'm on day 21 based on the shipped date. They are on lockdown but no pips, chirps or noticable rocking. I know it's early but I'm new to hatching and worried. 11 out of 15 have developed. But trying not to count my chickens before they hatch has prove very difficult. :{

I always considered the first full day 24 hours after placing eggs in a stable incubator

It's the day of starting incubation.

That would also explain why on day 7 candling was so disappointing but by 14 I had good numbers. Thanks. Ofcourse now I have to relax and be patient for a few more days. So excited!

I understand excitement I just put my first batch in the bator yesterday at 4am I was like a kid on Christmas lol.
