I sent some eggs today for an ebay customer. I sent him an email telling him I shipped them and he sent me a nasty email saying I should not have sent them today because they will be sitting in a warehouse somewhere all weekend. HUH? I always ship eggs Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so they will arrive before weekend. After 400+ egg transactions on ebay this is my first nasty customer. What do you all think?

I only ship Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday. Every shipment I've ever sent Weds has made it by Saturday. Assuming you do Priority mail? If so, your buyer is just nasty.

Yes, priority mail. This is really upsetting to me as I work very hard to maintain an excellent reputation. Hope he calms down. Thanks for your reasurring reply:)

I think he should have emailed you prior to shipping if he wanted them done at a certain time.

I ship things (from my website) all the time using priority mail. Out of 50 or so packages I sent out recently, all arrived in 2 or 3 business days, every single one.

However, I ordered ebay eggs a week early, to be shipped the day after Labor day (a Tues) and the seller said they would ship Tues, but shipped Wed. instead. I didn't receive them until the following Tuesday. I put them in the bator even though it was many days late and now I have to attempt a staggered hatch (it was that or just throw them). I was very disappointed that they not only didn't mail when they confirmed they would (twice! When I inquired & after payment) but that Priority took so long. Perhaps your buyer had a similar experience in the past.

Hi Cindy! I ship Mon, Tues, Wed, for Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat delivery.
I don't *usually* ship on Thurs.
I ship on Fri, Sat for Mon delivery.

Try not to be too upset. It sounds like your ebay customer doesn't understand shipping, or was just maybe having a bad day.
If it were me, I'd send him an email and a pat-on-the-back, letting him know that that the eggs will be just fine and should be delivered either Fri or Sat., then keep checking T&C and send him another email when they get there (and hope USPS doesn't drop the ball).

Sometimes you have to accept that no matter what you do, you can't make some people happy.

UPDATE on mr Difficult:/ He sent me an email telling me that he candled his 26 eggs from me (the listing is for 18) and he said 18 were no good. now he wants half his money back or he is giving me what I deserve (bad feedback) I knew he was going to be a problem. I sent him an email explaining that shipping is hard on eggs and since he lives in Florida and I am in Illinois that might have been part of the problem but he just dont get it.

yeah if they were bad ask him to send you a photo of your "bad eggs" in garbage-I have started to sign my initials on my eggs-just "in case" I had heard about serious horror stories about this happening with those bad egg claims and Im not taking a chance-I only send 6-9 eggs at a time and usually only on Mondays because I can pack them Sunday night-when I have time-the rest of the week NOO time to do it- good luck and Im sorry this happened to you!

He has to understand that shipping is hard on eggs. I get Florida eggs and got at least from one to four chicks out of a doz which that is on the low end. And some breeds are more fragile than others.

I would not refund his money at all with that understanding of shipped eggs. Its a risk. Even he will get one chick for fifty dollars total, that is what happens.

Something I just thought of- He sent me email on the 12th saying he candled his guinea eggs, and had to throw away 18 for infertility. The earliest he could have recieved them in the mail would have been the 6th, If he put them in the incubator immediatly they would have been only 6 days along! I consider myself a pretty good candler but i would NEVER candle and throw away guinea eggs on day 6!
