My 4 hens had not been laying for at least a month and a half. They seem healthy, they have normal poop and they act normal. They are not molting or hiding their eggs and they are eating the same chicken food they have been since July. The only thing that happened before we stopped laying eggs is the rooster found a new home, and he was not really nice to his girls. Do you think it is a worm infestation? I don't care about the lack of eggs...... (well it would be nice to have some eggs

), but their health.

B. Saffles Farms :

The shorter days may have more to do with it than any other thing.

Agree.

I have a automatic light and the coop is insulated and i am only getting
7 to 11 eggs a day out of 2 hens. I hope it gets better. I keep a heat lamp
on in the coop during the day to keep it above freezing in there, I dont know
if those things are helping or not.

It is a chicken conspiracy - they want to take over the world and are all refusing to lay eggs.

No wait that was pinky and the brain!

No clue

Yep, my gals have slowed way down and the eggs I get are smaller these days, even though I give them a couple more hours of light. They'll pick back up in the spring when it warms up and the days get longer.

Are they not laying but otherwise acting normal...I'd say its the shorter days (my five are laying very infrequently). If they are acting all broody (sitting on nests but no eggs) it could be they are upset over losing the rooster. Mine hate any change in the coop.
