what is going on!!!

Well I woke up at 11 pm and all three were out of the egg. One was really active! The other two were really wet and looked like they were strugling. They were breathing really hard. It's now 6:13 am and I found one dead an the other one is still wet and looks like whene he came out. He's just laying on the floor and breathing real hard. The other chick is fine! He al dried up walking around he fine!

Ahh you did good jungle fowl88 You know what might help i get a milk jug and fill it with hot water drap a towel over it and the chicks will go under it to stay warm it has worked for me when i had a few that where not doing to well i had to put the sick ones under there also maybe some sugar water to perk him up

Ok, well if your thermometer is calibrated correctly then the chick shouldn't be overheated. The other one apparently doing well and lively doesn't bode well for the other one. You mentioned that it was still "wet"....how long has it been hatched? The chicks should be ok for a couple of days without food/water (though I'd have some available for the active chick) so there's not a lot that can be done at the present time for the sickly one except keep it warm.

You've done good, we can only do so much as some things are simply out of our hands.

One other thought... The chick still being "wet" after so many hours has me wondering. It isn't shrink-wrapped with the membrane still partially around it, is it? That could be exhausting it's energy by it simply trying to escape the wrapping. Also, if it's hatched I would remove the humidity promoting items if you haven't already.

Just some thoughts,
Ed

you know what. i think this shrink wrap concept might be what happned. althought there is no obvious membrane around. him and he doesnt feel wet just doesnt look fluffy like the other one. but his eyes look kind of like something is over him..
