I have had two chickens die recently, and I am not sure what it was. I can't remember the problem with the first one (I think it was the fireworks on New Years), but the most recent one had a weird fluid coming out of her and a very poopy bottom. Could it be coccidiosis? It is winter here so not sure. Does it hurt to treat even if it isnt that? Thanks for the help!

Awww that’s so sad 😞 my chickens don’t gwt sick for some reason, but 3 of my baby chicks had a respiratory infection. I’m sorry about them and good luck❤️

I’m very sorry that’s Happening to you. You said that have fluid in their mouths? What does it look like? Does it smell? Are they eating regularly as far as you can tell? I am by no means a chicken disease expert since my chickens don‘t get sick very often, but could it be sour/impacted crop? That wouldn’t explain the poop though…

You live in Italy? If your climate there is mild, coccidiosis can be one cause of death. It never hurts to treat the flock with a coccidiostat if you suspect this. It's simply a vitamin B-1 blocker. You had a hen with what appeared to be a reproductive issue a week ago. Was she one of the chickens that died? How old are the affected chickens?

Also, with Coccidiosis, I believe there is usually blood in the stool, and I have never heard of fluid coming out of the mouth with Coccidiosis.

It would. My cockerel had an impacted crop and pooped fluid
