What is happening

We shinned a flashlite on the eggs before we went to bed on the eve of the hatchings and as we walked away we heard chirrping.
We spun around and looked at one another and exclaimed "WAS THAT YOU???" we both swore it wasn't us and learned later that it is common to hear them chirrping from within the shell.
Really cool if you ask me!

I am about to incubate my first group and have read EVERYTHING i can get my hands on - but the main theme i have read -is- SIT ONYOUR HANDS and find something to take your mind off of it! Easier said than done i am sure - GOOD LUCK!

Just finished up my first hatch at the beginning of the month. I never saw any of the eggs wiggle until the chicks were actually zipping. Mine actually started hatching a day late. I was so sure that I had done something wrong and they were all dead. I got six chicks out of eight eggs that went into lockdown. Don't panic and try to find anything else that will keep you occupied! They are doing just fine!

I've heard cheeping from inside the shell maybe a day before the chick pips. First time I heard that I nearly burst with excitement. I've seen unpipped eggs rocking around as well. Last hatch I did, the eggs were rocking and cheeping for ages before anything happened. Then they just seemed to stop... I didn't want to open the bator so I shone a really bright flashlight through the bator door at them and wiggled the beam about. And that woke them up and got them rocking again. My boyfriend couldn't stop laughing at me for doing that. I think I may have been making 'cheep cheep' noises too.

I"m so excited for you Terr!! I was in your shoes just a few days ago! But all that worry will melt away when you see your new babies running around the bator! As I"m typing, my two (Banjo and Popcicle) are keeping me company on my shoulder in my hair. You will have babies soon!

Don't you remember what your Grandmother told you.... A Watched Pot NEVER Boils... !!! Go Play on BYC, Words with Friends, World of Warcraft, make a cake, watch a movie, twiddle your thumbs and whistle dixie...

Don't worry about movement, rocking ect, Once you see that first Pip, you will go through all of this again, and want to watch constantally...

I have been on here all day staying away. Did not get much housewrok done. LOL. Oh well. I think I have figured it out. Tomorrow at 8pm will be 21 days. They are all going to wait till I go to sleep and than hatch. Silly babies. I just want to see one peep and zip. I do not have patience as you can all tell. Thank you all for putting up with me.
