What is HE!? Chimera/mutt, but what!? HELP!!! MYSTERY BOY!!!

Keep this gyandromorph/chimera healthy. You could sell it for big $$ someday in the future.

I had one and let it go to my cousin's farm... ended up as coyote cuisine.

What an interesting thread. You must keep updates as s/he grows!

Any chance you could get a photo from both the right and left. I suspect that as s/he matures the plumage variation between the male and female sides will make it easier to determine the breed, if that what you are after.

I'm attaching a few more photos... A few from when he was about 5 weeks old and some from this morning showing his back, sides, and asymmetry.
These are from when he was about 5 weeks old...

Hrm.... I saw your original post, and I have to admit that I started out skeptical that you had a true chimera.

Now I believe it's a bit more likely you do have a chimera. The final proof will be in the fully mature chicken. For now the left is developing like a male, and the right like a female in colorations. If it is a true chimera, then you most likely will not receive eggs from it as the left ovary is usually responsible for egg-laying in chickens, and the left side of your bird is dedicated to being male.

I'm really facinated to see it grow. You might want to dedicate a story thread to it in the Pictures &Stories of My Chickens section.

Keep posting!
