What is he?

I bought 6 chicks from Southern States on March 25th. I was told when I got them they were RIR crossed with White Rock? I was suprised when my rooster turned out white. What breed do you think he is? Also can you confirm the Hens breed?

By the way he is a jerk too. I do not like this bird!

Now I might be wrong about this, so hopefully someone more knowledgable will pipe up, but I believe the RIR X WR makes them red sex links, also called red stars and some other names. Therefore yes, your rooster would be white and your hens red. That's the great think about sex links...you can tell right away if you have hens or roosters.

They are red sex links. The hens will be red/gold with white on them, the roosters white with sometimes a little red on them. They're also called Red Stars, Gold Comets, Cinnamon Queens, Cherry Eggers, and various other things. Great egg layers.

I would say ISA Browns - are they the same as Red Sex-Links? ISA Brown pullets are red mottled with white, and the roos are all or mostly white.
