What is he?

I inherited this rooster and someone suggested at the time he was a 'something Bar-dot'. Any ideas?

yes, could be a barred wyandotte...that's not common around where I live, just noticed you're in the UK

I've not seen barred Wyandottes here in the US, but if you have them in the UK that seems the best bet. At first glance, barred bird + rose comb = Dominique, but looking further he's more rounded than a Dominique should be. Wyandottes are nicely rounded birds, so he could be.
