What is in this egg???

So one of my girls laid a slightly larger egg (I thought it was a double yolker) and when I cracked it open, this is what came out! normal yolk, but also this weird, hard white thing! Has anyone ever seen that before?
PS this egg did not get eaten

Did you inspect the white thing? Take it out, try to smash it to see if squishy or hard or brittle, etc?

How old is the layer?

Hope she just had a hiccup!

Following. I had one that looked similar this week. We removed the "thing" and ate the egg though. Mine was from a young layer. 23 weeks old.

Had this happen to me as well. It was another egg. I was so shocked! First pic with 2 eggs is for egg comparison. Second I cracked open the egg and egg fell out. I thought it was going to be a double yolker
