What is inside my egg a worm?

I found this today attached to the yolk. 3 inches white a bit clear, flat head, horizontal lines in body, hook tail.

ummm... It looks like maybe it could have been where the egg been forming and the thin inner shell may have just curled back and detached maybe, idk.

If it was attached to the yolk then it is most likely the Chalaza(e) which is part of the egg. Sometimes it can be thick or thin. The fresher the egg, the more "visible" it is.
