What is it? God only knows!! UPDATE on PG 10

if theres anything in that trap tomorrow....u will have officially freaked me out more than anyone in the entire universe can!!!

but do it anyways lol

yes ive heard theres bobcats here....i cant afford a bigger trap lol....i want it to walk up to me so i can shoot it and be done with it...only if im armed tho lol

I'm in florida and we had kinda the same thing happen. I finally found tracks. I was going to buy a trap but found out they were like 300.00 so my hubby and I broke out the welder and built one. Only my white hen keep disappearing so we used a white hen for bait (in a seppret pen). It worked and we caught a bobcat. Since I know it was just looking for dinner I didn't have the heart to dispose of it so we relocated quite a few miles from here. Now I call that little bait hen Bait. No more problems for awhile now. Good luck with catching that rascally critter.

Ok so Im 99.999999999999999% sure its a hawk now. We just saw 18+ (at one time, i counted) hawks circling our property for about a half an hour. Ive never seen that many big birds in my life!! I had some girls out and I felt like I couldnt get them away fast enough. And I CANNOT BELIEVE they did not sound the predator alarm! Stupid birds. They didnt have a clue what was going on.
I think what may have triggered it was my sister trying to catch our banty roo. She was chasing him and they were both running all over our property as fast as they possibly could for a good half hour.
Im not even joking there were at least 18 that I could count at one time, but I know there was more. They looked like they were black or a DARK DARK brown. What kind do you think they were? All I know, is if I hadnt been there whether they were a problem in the past or not, they would have taken out my entire flock. This was at about 5PM in broad daylight obviously. Everybody is safely in their coops now thank GOD!!!!

Turkey vultures fly in numbers but I don't think hawks do. I had a turkey vulture fly over my house and land on a 4x4 post holding up my cloths line behind the house. He was about 50 feet away, staring at me. They are huge birds but don't think they'd go after your birds, they don't like to spend much effort in getting a meal, they like what's already dead.

I think vultures also, Hawks do not travel or live in multiples. They are terratorial. At most you could see 2 together during breeding season. Also hawks are not one solid color. Thats why there was not a predator alarm.
