What is it with the bag of shavings??

So the shavings bag is clearly the new cool place to lay (see my previous post https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=514943 )

"Oh boy!! More shavings!! Gimme gimme gimme!"

"Do you think we can both fit in here?"

"If I keep digging, no one will know I'm in here."

We had a bag of shaving leaning up against the coop for a while once. They pecked a hole in it. . . and ate a big ole bunch.

Mine get all giddy about shavings, too!

I got a bale of straw once, stored it on the front porch, the closest covered area. I must have been out of my mind to let them free range then, they spread straw over the entire porch and most of the "yard".
