We had a bag of shaving leaning up against the coop for a while once. They pecked a hole in it. . . and ate a big ole bunch. [IMG]

[IMG] Mine get all giddy about shavings, too!

I got a bale of straw once, stored it on the front porch, the closest covered area. I must have been out of my mind to let them free range then, they spread straw over the entire porch and most of the "yard". [IMG]

Quote:That's awesome. You know, there's something profound in the ability to get so much joy out of a simple bale of straw or bag of shavings. Kind of like kids liking the box more than the toy that came in it. [IMG]
