What is killing my chickens?

You may be dealing with a skunk.
Skunks arent large enough to carry full-size poultry away either. Fwitw ive had the unpleasant experience of having a gray fox hunt my free-ranging chickens during the daytime hours. It adjusted since they were securely locked up during the night. If not for the fact i penned the survivors up And aquired an additional lgd to confront the fox, it would have likely got them all.

Very few predators are large enough to carry away a full-size bird. Along with fox, bobcats and coyotes, other candidates include bears and rarely great horned owls & raccoons. But the last 2 usually only hunt at night.

So can civit cats, fishers, mink, martins, opposums, and feral house cats.
The only predators i have that can grab & carry off full grown chickens are coyotes, bobcats and fox. (Smaller predators can After they've consumed part of the carcass). But it is true the large predators usually leave few feathers behind, while the op said they saw a lot of feathers. So thanks for correcting me; im sure you are right.
