FWIW, and though I know there was a trail of feathers ruling this out most likely, a fully mature red-tailed hawk can carry off a 3-5 lb bird. I've seen them do it... :-(

I have several cameras identical to this one. It takes very good night pictures when most of the predators roam here. The top picture was taken with an identical camera. The only drawback is that it takes the tiny micro SD cards.

I have bought some cameras that were lousy and didn't take good night pictures. Here is an example of different cameras mounted in the same place.

There is a coyote in the left side of the picture but barely able to see.

I have some mounted on posts that I occasionally move around. Most of the cameras are pointed at the coops from different angles. In the second photo is a camera behind mounted on a fence post. Good luck...

I agree on fox as the most likely culprit. (Possibly a bobcat). Im not surprised your guineas noticed nothing amiss. Fox are very stealthy and sly; they creep up on their target, quickly grab the prey and run away. And fox will adjust to taking poultry during the daytime when they discover daylight hours are when dinner is served. Very sorry for your losses. Unfortunately, unless you keep your poultry permanently penned or get a livestock guardian dog to protect the premises, the killing will likely continue until your entire flock is gone.

Update I saw a single coyote, and raccoons. (I also saw many deer although that isn't relevant) another bird was killed while I was on vacation. It was killed in the run of tbe pen then dragged into the pen area where the chickebs lay eggs and roost. Its whole head is missing, and only the bones and some organs remain, along with many feathers. It was one of my Jersey Giant hens jf that helps. Sorry it took so long to update. Thanks for all your help!

The fact that it was carried over the top of the pen points to a Bob cat.Not sure fox could manage to carry a large bird up and over the fence.Did she say it got thru a tiny hole in the tarp? Neither a fox or a Bob cat can fit thru a tiny hole.Hmmm Not sure where I got that last part.Sorry!
