What is "Legs"?

These 3 shots were taken last Sunday afternoon. That would put (him/her/it) at 22 weeks, since I received them May 15th. It still has only a tiny tail, but i love the little beard It has. So far none of this new batch have laid any eggs yet. The 2nd and 3rd shot have it with some of the Australorps i got in the same order. Please don't worry about all the feathers all over. My leghorns from last spring are molting like crazy!

I agree EE pullet though on your other thread I thought she might be a roo I change my opinion. She is very pretty. She must have a weird feather disorder or something in her genetics that causes her to be extremely slow to feather.

It's only been in the last couple of weeks that I've started to see these tail feathers cone in. I wonder if she will end up with normal looking tail?

Legs is now 26? Weeks old. The tail feathers seem to really be coming in now. Am I mistaken, or are these pointy saddle feathers I'm starting to see? When I picked Legs up today, it looked like It had more feathers coming in on the head and neck. The new feathers seemed to have a small white band on them....

I zoomed in and those are indeed saddle feathers, legs is a boy!

This whole batch is developing way slower then my leghorns from last year did. Last years leghorns started laying between 19-24 weeks. So far none of my 26? Week olds are laying. Only 3/4 of them are getting red faced... I still haven't seen any crowing or mounting from Legs either. But it's only been about a week that I started wondering about those saddle looking feathers...

Agreed. He is a rooster. His saddle feathers are very obvious now.
