What is my female mallard doing??

@duckmanjim I will agree with you,

That female looks like a Rouen not a mallard.. I was wondering if that is linked with domination, you said that she was trying to push other's around? And sometimes males do that when the breeding season is in full fledge. If you watch horses the males will do that with their neck to corral the females.
 
Yes lol. I also heard drakes make a whistling noise while they were performing a dance in the water. That was super weird and the ladies didn't seem impressed

Does she usually run when she puts her head down? That's actually what ducks do right before take-off -- even the ducks that don't fly. It's just a duck thing. The only other time they may place their head down like that is when they also open their bill. That's a sign of aggression like "hey back off" sort of thing. Ducks are so silly!
