Barred Rocks are a rock steady beautiful bird. 250-300 yr Large brown eggs, healthy ,friendly. A must have bird.
So are Road island Reds. My Buff O's have more health issues but still in the top ten.

Easter Eggers and Australorps!

@Yze check out the Livestock Conservancy breeder list for Dominique’s. Breeders should have what your mom remembers, the breed standard hasn’t changed. Hatcheries breed for quantity not quality, so avoid them if you want correct birds. (I say as someone who has hatchery birds and is happy with them but I don’t need/want SOP birds)

Legbars. I have only had 4 different breeds so far but my opal legbar is honestly the most funny and spunky girl. It may change as my favorelles and easter egger grows (and when i get my amerucanas) but I doubt it. She isn’t a huge fan of jumping on my lap but when she is on my lap she will fall asleep as i pet her.
