I tried to post this picture last week, but no success, so here she is from the desktop. She came from Rural King, supposedly a "rainbow", that was my first stab at buying chickens. I got 5 leghorns as well that day and this girl is at least twice as big as those mean things. Rainbow as she's known by the kids, is very flighty, I think that was learned from the leghorns.

I'm expecting a new batch for Buff Orphingtons and barred rocks on Saturday, no kids touching them, but I understand they are better birds. They will not be mixed with the leghorns, they have their own coop.

Thanks.

Maybe she's what's known as a Dixie Rainbow. Pullets tend to be flighty until they start to lay. Hopefully they will settled down for you.
