What is that color named? And EE vs OE

The hen is a brahma mix (from pure brahma hen with unknown rooster in free ranging flock) bred with an unknown mixed rooster from a free ranging flock. I bet they have quite a lot of breeds mixed in.

Rooster wise, I know there was a few unknown mixes, an isabel orpington and a lavender ameraucana

interesting, she’s wheaten colored...

Earlier I was kinda wondering if he would end up kinda silver wheaten looking too

his colors look a little like ‘Salmon Faverolles” cockerels as they mature and they are silver wheaten colored.

it’s impossible to say for sure, but if you look up ‘salmon faverolle rooster’ he might look sorta like that

Actually here’s a blue salmon faverolle, my guess is that he might end up close to this ... just a guess though

nice! He’s less “rocky road” and more Oreo now, lol

not what I was guessing he’d end up looking like, but I like him

I was doing some reading on genetics of chick down recently... concerning the way the colors and patterns of new born chicks are sorta linked or indirectly linked to the base colors of the adult birds, etc.

and in that reading there was some info about the genetics of intermediate juvenile feathering patterns, and some mention that many of these juvenile patterns disappear once the birds are in their adult feathers...

long story short there are some separate genes that control the chick down and juvenile patterns, but not much is really known about them or how they are linked

He looks like a leaky/messy blue silver partridge. Much of the pattern will fade.
