What is the benefit of bantam chickens?

I think bantams can be just as practical if not more than large fowl. My utility OEGBs lay plenty of eggs, are great foragers, flyers and broodies, and their breasts are much broader that many of my large fowl. And they eat VERY little.

I will be getting only Bantams.

Reasons:
My family is downsizing
We don't use that many eggs
I don't mind that the quantity of producing eggs will be less
Most go broody - quality that I will need/broodies ARE AWSOME MAMAS
I will use them to hatch future chicks
More Bantams mean more chicken for our table
People who are hungry and looking for food for their families (in the near future), will very most likely pass up Bantams for larger fowl to feed their families.
With very careful breeding, it IS possible to produce Bantams that have a good quantity of meat, excellent broodiness, heat/cold tolerable and lovely to enteract with and eye candy!
LF also kinda intimidate me.....I don't relish a thought of trying to cut up a large bird, when it'll be easier to do with smaller Bantams.....each time we want to eat chicken.
Oh yeah, I also forgot to mention that Bantams are excellent foragers , and they can fly higher and farther than LF.

What breed(s)?

For my family's flock I still want {Dutch, Old English, Modern, Japanese, Cornish, Speckled Sussex, ect.} <---I really want all of the speckled and whites......but, after that ugly winter ice storm one year, and this long/cold winter just past....I seriously have to rethink my wants versus my needs....and my henhouse will have to be a deep three sided with a roof, as I am going with my memory of having only bantams surviving (none of the larger breeds survived) on my Pappa's old, abandoned family farm for years afterwards, living like feral chickens.
So I will be raising these:
Brahmas
Cornish
Red Shouldered Yokohamas
Sumatras
Breeds that have pea combs or rose combs.

I still might toss in a few of the other breeds that I still want.

Pappa's farm had survivng, a mixture of the Bantam breeds I want and some of the breeds I will be raising.
