LeghHonestly saying pretty much what your climate is in the beginning of the post in the title elimates alot of nonsense. Still recommend leghorns they are machines in that climate and for most climates.
Thats the plan. I’m thinking about having the flock evolve for ten years.Someone already mentioned, but its tricky, because there isn't a perfect breed out there for everything.
I could only recommend to try using multiple breeds, and focus on how the offspring perform. Maybe try to focus on breeding to create the perfect bird for your end goals? May take a couple generations, but could be a 1-3 year project maybe?
I understand that. Was asking about 50 chickens running on 50 acres.
This brews a few ideas..Legh

I've done Brahma/leghorn, and the results were interesting. Larger birds, still laid very well with large eggs, but still were not interested in being broody at all. I'm curious actually on how broodiness gets passed down geneticallyDo and australorp leghorn mix should be interesting
I see. A good thought to consider!
I’ll definitely consider it... I’m thinking of starting with Florida bullfrogs liege x Azil.Do and australorp leghorn mix should be interesting
....FL bullfrogs??????????I’ll definitely consider it... I’m thinking of starting with Florida bullfrogs liege x Azil.
from there I might add a domestic bird into the mix like Jersey giant or australorp.
