Honestly saying pretty much what your climate is in the beginning of the post in the title elimates alot of nonsense. Still recommend leghorns they are machines in that climate and for most climates.

Yep. That surely will be interesting...That’s why I need survival birds. But I want the best of everything haha.
I want big/meaty birds that I can cull here and there for food security purposes.
Someone already mentioned, but its tricky, because there isn't a perfect breed out there for everything. That’s why I need survival birds. But I want the best of everything haha.

But leghorns were bred for strict egg production. They lack on being broody at all, and are smaller birds overall. Maybe good to use of you need to increase future laying in offspring (crossbreeding).Honestly saying pretty much what your climate is in the beginning of the post in the title elimates alot of nonsense. Okay...well...l have never done something like that, so I honestly have no idea what will happen.
There will be chickens running all over the place.Okay...well...l have never done something like that, so I honestly have no idea what will happen.
How are you going to catch them? That’s why I need survival birds. But I want the best of everything haha.

They would have to rely on spending time with them when they're chicks, and feed them early on so they don't immediately try to run away as they get older. An opinion of mine, but who knows? How are you going to catch them?

I understand that. Was asking about 50 chickens running on 50 acres. They would have to rely on spending time with them when they're chicks, and feed them early on so they don't immediately try to run away as they get older. An opinion of mine, but who knows?
