In my opinion, you can't beat a good old American game chicken, they are great broodies, and some of the best protectors after the hatch as well.

I cant tell you which is the best But I have Cubalayas that will tear your arm off if you try to take their eggs or touch their chicks not to mention when you try they also let out a blood curdling squak.

quick question,, do hens tend not to go broody if they never had a mother figure to raise them, ie hatching in a incubater,, ??
