What is the best way to feed chickens yogurt?

Have to agree with the folks that say put it in a shallow container quickly and then get the heck out of the way....really.

I Gave some plain yogurt mixed with their feed on a paper plate. They were afraid of the paper plate so I left it in there for them. Well when I came back a few hours later they ate all of the yogurt mix and literally half of the paper plate. All I can hope for is no impacted crop.

Yes, my first try with yogurt didn't work as I put nothing in it and they just tromped through it. This was when they were young, maybe 3 weeks. Then I added their feed and they recognized that and went for it. Since then I have served it to them plain or mixed with other things (today hemp seed and chick scratch).

I love the fact that they calmly eat it off each other's face. The first time I saw one of the lower on the totem pole chicks eat it off the current bully roos face I was horrified and thought she would get a real whooping but no. As well, it is the one treat that everyone seems to be able to share peacefully without fighting for space or pushing someone out.

I buy the plain low fat type, not sure if there one type is better than another. I would serve it every day but I think I read once a week. Anyone have any info on that??

Very beautiful!

BTW...wanted to warn you that one of your "pullet eggs" had some weird writing on it, so perhaps you should watch which eggs you crack open to eat! hee hee hee

Very beautiful!
All the best on your treatments and may you get to enjoy retirement thoroughly!
