OMG Thank you for sharing I loved loking at the pictures. I think I was kinda thinking of doing some nursing home visits with my chickens also. (that's just an idea) I already share the chicks I have with the preschool. The ones I have spend one night a week there as a classroom lessons. Those children know a lot about chickens now? The teacher loves to here them at nap time too. She says it is relaxing.
I have heard that the bigger the chicken the more tame they are except I also heard that the silkies are wonderful in that regard as well. One of my daughters wants a silkie the other a Jersey Giant. My son wants one that looks like a car????
I think visiting Nursing homes is a great idea. I have elderly neighbors and they LOVE to come over and hang out with the chickens. They really light up being around them.

hahaaaa a car thats funny! my roo looks like a turkey! does that work for your son??? LOL. Hippy by all means is NOT tame, he takes his job seriously.
A rooster cant crow if you put him in something he cant stand up and crow in..... maybe at night put him in a kennel, and around 10am let him out? LOL
