Looks like an Easter Egger to me.

They should still be buff colored females and have blue (or splash in this instance) instead of black edged tails, and the wing should still have the triangle at the base. At least that is my understanding.

Some pics of blue wheaten...

This is more like splash wheaten hen.

They are all beauties! :love
The difference between wheaten, blue wheaten and splash wheaten females is subtle. As you mention they will all have the same wheaten coloring, and the only difference will be in the wing/tail tips and underfluff. Wheaten will have black/dark grey, blue wheaten will have blue grey, and splash wheaten will have white. With the males it's much easier to tell.

Yes but splash wheaten aren't recognized so you don't see a lot of them easily online.

The grey one is an Americana, I have 3 of them so I would know.
Hi there, hope you're enjoying BYC! :frow

So... you have 3 blue Ameraucana... but don't know the name of the feather color or use the correct spelling?

The bottoms?
This is the easiest place to see true skin color. White would be the correct color for Ameraucana. Many but not all EE will have yellow skin, often causing more greenish legs/shanks than slate.

@keesmom thank you for the more clear explanation! :highfive:

Well, that's why I wanted to verify foot color. I have a bird at home that is black with lovely dark slate legs with pinkish foot bottoms. She has gorgeous muffs and a full beard (when the other chickens haven't pecked it out). She looks like a gorgeous little black ameraucana. Thing is, in the right lighting you will notice a small handful of red leakage on her neck. Like literally 5 feathers with very dark red on them. She gets them from her father... Her mother was a pure lavender ameraucana.... her father was a beautiful double tufted rumpless black breasted red araucana... Thus, making her an EE.
