Haha! This thread is from a couple of years ago, and my wish list has changed since then:

• Any kind of Polish
• BLRW
• Olive Egger
• Sussex
• Orloff
• Salmon Faverolle
• Something blue
• Sebright

Funny how things can change in so short of a time!

I want some Pita Pintas. But I am afraid of trying to hatch them, as I'm inexperienced and they are very expensive. Wish I could find someone who sells baby chicks! Also, I would really like to have a separate coop and large run for them, so I could breed and keep them pure! Which of course, would mean ... learning to hatch, lol!

A word of caution: I had a lovely BJG yearling rooster, and last year he lost a good part of his magnificent comb and about half his wattles to frostbite. He really suffered! We have a homemade no-waste feeder with 3" PVC elbows fitted into a plastic trash can, and he could not eat out of that at all until he completely healed.

The bigger the comb the more susceptible. That's good for heat, but I would look to breed that down.

Yes they can breed with chickens. Green jungle fowl-ayam cemani is pretty common. I’ll pull a pic from google in a moment
