What is the friendlist duck breed?

Here are the breeds I have had...

Rouen
Khaki Campbell
Buff
Runner
Welsh Harlequin

The friendliest out of those was the Welsh Harlequins followed by the buff.

2 of my WH were raised by me from a few days old. 2 were raised in a big flock and purchased as adults. All 4 are equally friendly despite very different circumstances.
The buff was friendly but LOUD!!!! Several of us have notice buffs also tend to be bossy little busy-bodies. If you don't mind the volume, they might not be a bad choice either

Yeah. Good point. Most of mine were raised by me from eggs. But I will say, even though I've raised MOST of my ducks from eggs, my muscovy are still the friendliest of all of them. Even the 4 rescues I got as adults are friendlier than the rouens, swedish, mallard, appleyards and khakis I've raised my self.

Okay well I guess muscovies are out. I don't want to take any chances. I want a breed that is nice and will not cross breed with my wood ducks. This is gonna take a while it seems!

I have Campbells, a Pekin, Mallards, a Call Duck, Indian Runners, Dutch Hookbills, and some new Stanbridge White and Welsh Harlequin ducklings, and the Dutch Hookbills are hands-down the friendliest of them all.

My new Welsh Harlequin ducklings that hatched this week are surprisingly skittish - I was there when they hatched, I even helped one out of the shell and saw it open its eyes for the first time and look up at me, but they all hate me (but then, they're all boys, so maybe that has something to do with it). All the Hookbills I've ever had were very sweet and calm, and would come right up to me as ducklings, and they don't get skittish as they age like my Campbells did.

I keep rouens, a swedish, and calls, and I'd say all three breeds are reasonably friendly. I think most species of truly domesticated duck are fairly docile--if you put the work into giving them attention when they're young, they'll like you and be pretty friendly. Go with whatever variety you like.

I have Mandarins, they are a little skittish but I have one male that isn't. They are in the same classification with wood ducks but not really known to crossbreed. I paid $100 for two pair of them and they rival the wood ducks in looks.
