What is the longest it has ever taken your chicks to hatch??

my eggs are always early but i had a guinea hen who dissapeared for 5 whole weeks before she returned with newborns

I've had eggs hatch Day 19, 20, 21 and 22. I've got late hatchers this time, I think. I've got 3 early ones out already... the rest haven't pipped and I know they were good on Day 18.

Well I just got home from work and found him not moving. Opened up the egg and he was fully developed and absorbed the sack, but had died. Anyone tell me why they think this could have happened?

oh I'm so sorry. I don't have any answers though. i had 10 eggs. 8 of them pipped and hatched. Two peeped, wiggled, but never pipped. I was afraid to intervene, after 24 hours there was no more wiggling or peeping. left the eggs another day and nothing. I never did have the nerve to open them. it may have been something was wrong with the chick, or the shell was too tough (humidity issue?) heartbreaking though, to make it that far! I hope someone else has some ideas for you!
