Their beautiful! I just wanted to know if they had a purpose.This is a black necked swan, one of many, in a lake in Pompano Beach FL. There are a lot of them living with various waterfowl there at a retirement village where my mom spent her final years. All the birds seem to get along. They did have 2 mute swans, who were kept separate because they were aggressive to humans. They finally traded the mutes. I think swans are magnificent and seeing them makes my heart happy. Do they need any other purpose?

). Swans fulfill some part in the ecosystem for sure, in the balance of nature, though we may not know what that is. Do they benefit HUMANS in some particular, specific way? I don't know. It might make a great research project. Why don't you look into that and report back to us?
