So how many female runners should I have to keep the drakes happy as I really want to keep them all? Thanks for any info

It really depends on the personality of your drakes. Some flocks can work with 1:1 while others need minimum 1:3. I have a mallard drake that isn't satisfied with 2 females so I'm looking for a few more. It really depends but to prevent drowning and over breeding I'd say a 1:3 ratio would be best

I have my drake in a pen with one hen. They get along fine. She is possessive and starts beating up on the other hens when they are all together and the drake picks on the low hen. I agree personality makes a lot of difference.
