What is the Safety of TENAX POULTRY FENCE - anyone use this?

I've come across a product called
Tenax Poultry Fence.....its a heavy gage plastic in the shape of chicken wire and/or wire cloth. I'm wondering if this product would be successful in repelling predators as the traditional wire products.

Could something chew through it? I'm using this against a wood fence "in case of" a dog digging under fence....so I am going to wrap it around a 12" x 12" concrete block about 6 inches underground, attach it to the wood fence all the way up and over the top. I will be housing rabbits and guinea pigs at first (chewers) then eventually chickens.

I highly doubt that it would keep anything out. Chicken wire and plastic products like this are more to keep chickens in and not so much as to ensure that predators stay out.

You'd be better off picking up some 1x1 or galvanized hardware cloth from Lowes and burying that at least 6" into the ground and tacking it to the fence.

I once had a house rabbit. It happily chewed into an electric cord.. Each time it got shocked it would thump in a rather ticked off rabbit manner and then nibble some more.

That said, plastic won't do a thing for you if you're using it for rabbits.

Be sure to grow some nice parsley for them.

I was "hoping" that by using the wire cloth version of the poultry fencing, would keep the rabbit and guinea pigs from getting their teeth into it. Smaller squares would be much harder. But since I'm just 6 months from a raccoon massacre of guinea pigs, I was trying to protect them as much as possible.

By the way.....my critters are spoiled....I'm growing parsley, cilantro, mustard, swiss chard, lettuces, etc. They are getting tons!!

I'd use wire chickenwire before using plastic chickenwire

Seriously.

And I wouldn't use EITHER anywhere that anything mammalian could possibly get to.
