I am building a new coop, I kust wanted to see what people here have up their sleeves. Any cool nifty things that their coop has, wether it be building or gadgets I'd love to hear about them! I would looooooooooove to get some great ideas, so show us what you've got!
Thank you, I have to go fold laundry, otherwise I'd eleborate, just tell me some cool things you have found about chicken coops over the years!

I found a thread that showed me how to make these feeders out of PVC pipe. They are easy to make and save a lot of food because they don't spill.

I did make one adjustment after this picture was taken. The caps on the bottom were originally only one inch bigger than the pipe. I changed it to two inches bigger. It is easier for the chickens to get the food and still no spilling. I also like the fact that they don't take up any floor space!

Thank you guys! I love the feeders, and might use one of those designs as the feeder in the outdoor run. I will also use a string pulley for the barn pop door. Please keep the ideas flowing thanks! Ps. I will have 2 bunnies with 14 chickens, (My parents are pushovers) will they get along in the same run? They will have different houses. Thanks again!

Mine has a green lens from a stop (go?) light in the side. When the sun hits it everything inside the coop looks green. Fun over functional, but I love it!

The string is hooked to the door latch and it runs up and over the wall. When you pull on it the latch pops open and you can get out. Pretty nifty!!

My coops have my chickens. So there. I don't need no stinkin' tricks or "things" to make 'em special. <*arms crossed, tapping toe*>

However, for the NEW coop under construction, I do have PVC feeders for the inside, and some PVC waterers with nipples, a battery-powered, light sensor controlled automatic door, a solar-powered light for the inside, a solar powered "attic" fan & vent to help move summer-heated air outside, the people door will be Dutch style with upper and lower sections to open/close independently OR as a single door unit, and the same good features as my current Main Coop: vinyl floor covering, but partway up the wall behind the roost bars, and a row of milk crate nest boxes along a side wall.

I want a green GO lamp lens TOO!!
