What is the trick or thing that your coop has?

My coops are made more for security... nothing cool about them. Yet. Unless you count padlocks that can be opened by keys on every door to keep out predators.

Chickens? WOW :

Thank you guys! I love the feeders, and might use one of those designs as the feeder in the outdoor run. I will also use a string pulley for the barn pop door. Please keep the ideas flowing thanks! Ps. I will have 2 bunnies with 14 chickens, (My parents are pushovers) will they get along in the same run? They will have different houses. Thanks again!

My two bunnies and my chickens live happily together. The hens are now laying their eggs in the rabbit hutch!

Oh you can rest assured that the chickens going into that new coop are already in her "ginormous brooder" patiently waiting for the coop to be finished! Does tapping their chickie feet count as being patient?

Dutch door on the coop (already mentioned), and if you have a fenced-in run, have the fence gate elevated 6 - 10 inches off the ground so you can still open it when it snows!

We have a large Tractor/Greenhouse/hoophouse type coop that houses our 50 + flock. Hubby just installed a pullet-shut automatic door. We live on my employers farm, the coop is on the back property about 1/2 a mile and over a hill from the house so we have had to drive out to the main road and down the next driveway and down to the coop to let them out in the morning and lock them in at night. He also installed some type of radio that signals from the coop to our apartment to let us know if the door opened or shut. 1 light on and the door is open, 2 lights on and it has closed. I am so excited!!! Way Cool

Plus the big chickens have been visiting it and checking out the interior space, since the door isn't on it yet. And they LOVE the space underneath it for dust bathing! The coop is raised 2 ft off the ground.

Yes, the new coop will have chickens.
