'Bird 'n the Fluffy Butts coop in Ohio
Ok, i know it sounds gross, but my hen had seemed a little lethargic the last day or so. She had been hanging out with my DH in his garage, and i wondered if she had gotten into something.

Then yesterday she had to 'go'. and being the chicken she is, 'she went ' right in front of me. With her acting a little funny lately, (I know it sounds gross), but I looked at her poo.

what i found, made me go chase my hubby down and beat him with an ugly stick. (not really, it wasnt his fault)

1/4 inch screw
valve stem cap

I cant believe she was able to pass the screw. At least she is ok.

They try to attack plastic garden tags, but they can never seem to break them enough to eat them. Plus, whenever I see them eating one, I take it away.

Weirdest thing.... Hmmm... My GSL pullet once pecked a Q-tip with Blue Kote on it. She had a cut on her comb that I was trying to swab and she wouldn't stay still.

I am just so surprised that it passed without getting stuck in her intestines. She almost got an earring of mine the other day, pulled it right out of my ear and almost got it down. I figured she would be a gonner if she got it down.

Now I am starting to wonder?

wellllll........ this is very interesting i like this topic my chicken pecked an earring right out of my ear when i was bent over, my chickens ( all of them do this ) eat rats, they love finding a little stray rat and fighting over it and devouring it, and once i had a rat snake in my coop under a nesting box, and i killed it and then one of my hens ate it like how most people eat ramen noodles, by slurping them, well she doesn't have lips like we do, so she just swallowed it a little at a time, and got it to where a little tail was sticking out of her beak, then she slurped it mmm mmm good, by the way the same hen that pecked out my earring is still alive after that incident two years ago, i couldn't find the ring any where, so i am assuming that she ate it
