what is this? a twin?

Just had a healthy Brabanter hatch from an egg that was slightly larger than the rest but there was something extra left inside the shell! It appears to have feathers, a beak, wings and an eye. Do you think this was twins and one quit early? anyone ever have something like this?

most likely it was a double yolk...so yes, it was a twin. people have hatched out double yolks and have both survive, but one dying before it hatches is more common.

Well actually this is much more rare than hatching tow live chicks... Usually when one of the embryos die the other won't be able to live eaither so will die as well... so he is a survivor!

I once cracked open a wind egg to find that it had a yoke. Could an egg like that be hatched?
