What is this and can I help her????

I will try Google. What I do know about time frame is that another egg that was set on the same day, piped at the same time, and started zipping at the same time ( all of this hatch has come out in pairs) hatched much earlier today and was so feisty I had to remove her! I have the incubator in a room that is about 90 degrees and the humidity in the room is about 55%. I will just put her under a light in there and see how she does.

I woke up this morning expecting the same pathetic wet chick with a huge bulb on her heiny...and instead found a fluffy, loud, perfectly normal ad healthy chick with dried up yolk sac about to fall off her little booty. chicks are way tougher then we give them credit for! I did not have a lot of hope after reading some of these threads! thanks for all your help

mornin, cant see her butt, the straw is hiding it. not that im out looking for chicken butt this morning. haha that was pretty fast. is that a piece of straw in bottom middle of ur pic? look like a chicken foot?

i thought the same thing about the shaving...yes it's shavings, not a chicken foot! When I walked in yesterday morning, the sac had completely absorbed and dried up like I saw on some of the other chicks...and eventually they fall off so i'm thinking that's what will happen with this one. she's been fine since i put her in the brooder with the others, eating drinking, and pooping. i had some friends over and their little 5 year old was pretty upset when she saw the chicken so she held it and said a prayer for it....hmmmm :) maybe theres something to it
